Cleveland Scholastic Rowing Association

Cleveland Scholastic Rowing Association (CSRA) is a parent-run co-ed high school club rowing team.  Our rowers are comprised of girls and boys from numerous high schools and communities across greater Cleveland.  We compete with other high schools and club teams from the midwest and east about three times per season in regattas (races) in Ohio and the surrounding states.  The team competes as crews of 4 or 8 rowers in either a novice (first year) or varsity (experienced) classification.

SPRING ROWING:

Rowing for the Spring season will begin March 12, 2012 . This Spring, CSRA plans to offer two programs, Learn to Row (LTR), and Novice/Varsity.

The LTR program is typically for 7th-8th grade new rowers who want a less competetive program. The practice schedule will be less intense (3 days a week), and the focus will be on learning to row or cox and improving your physical conditioning. LTR program rowers will not compete in regattas.  If invited to row in a regatta, additional fees will apply for regatta registration, uniforms, accomodations etc.

The Novice program is for rowers in 9th-12th grade with less than one year experience who have not yet competed in a Midwest Junior Rowing Championship.  Fees, workout & regatta committments are the same but Novice rowers will race with fellow Novice rowers.

The Varsity program is for experienced rowers in 9th-12th grade who have competed at least one year (2 seasons) already. Rowers will practice 6 days a week, and will compete in several regattas.
