Cleveland Scholastic Rowing Association

Most important:  Bring a bottle of water & a positive attitude.

Tight fitting (compression) shorts/pants are best.  Loose fitting clothing is strongly discouraged as it is too easily caught up in the equipment.

Warm, dry clothes & a change of socks to change into after workout are always a good idea.

Every attempt is made to be on the water.  When weather is uncooperative, workouts will be in the erg room.

SPRING ROWING:

Rowing for the Spring season will begin March 12, 2012 . This Spring, CSRA plans to offer two programs, Learn to Row (LTR), and Novice/Varsity.

The LTR program is typically for 7th-8th grade new rowers who want a less competetive program. The practice schedule will be less intense (3 days a week), and the focus will be on learning to row or cox and improving your physical conditioning. LTR program rowers will not compete in regattas.  If invited to row in a regatta, additional fees will apply for regatta registration, uniforms, accomodations etc.

The Novice program is for rowers in 9th-12th grade with less than one year experience.  Fees, workout & regatta committments are the same but Novice rowers will race with fellow Novice rowers.

The Varsity program is for experienced rowers in 9th-12th grade who have competed at least one year (2 seasons) already. Rowers will practice 5 days a week, and will compete in several regattas.
